Detached

Posted in: Daily Life

Have you ever thought about how much you rely on your computer and your online life?
Since the recent death of my computer, I’ve been forced to do all emailing and updates at work. That’s easier said than done.
I’ve been out looking for a replacement, and believe I have settled on one. I’m hoping to go get it very soon. This is one faster and has more hard drive space than my dead one.
It does have Vista, which I am kind of leery about… but I guess I’ll give it a shot.
It has been strange, sitting at home every night… we’re so used to being able to jump up and check email, or look something up, etc…
I jokingly told Steven, “You mean I have to just sit here and talk to YOU all night?
It’s been good though, House is back on (for now), and we’ve enjoyed watching Braves games for the past few nights.

In the meantime, we spent most of last week at Winston’s… early on, we just called the weekend a bust. We got back into the gym and eating right this week… and it’s been like a jumpstart, with us each losing two more pounds.
So begins our “cruise countdown” - 14 days to go!

30 in 30

Posted in: Daily Life

So… I’ll be 30 in 30 days. Wow.
As the big 3-0 gets closer, I feel better about it. It’s not that I was ever upset or afraid of turning 30, it’s just that I feel like I have been in my twenties for so long. A lot of things happened, many changes were made… it’s been ten years of “growing up.”
This is no ordinary birthday - it’s the beginning of a new decade of my life!

I feel like I should say something really meaningful…
On a blog I read, Susan made a great list about turning thirty and the things she has accomplished along the way.
I’m not great with making lists, as we found out awhile ago with my 100 things bio, but over the next thirty days, I will try to compile something fun!

At almost-30, I feel very lucky.
I have a wonderful husband that loves me, a home to keep us warm and dry, a job that provides for us, lots of great family, and awesome friends both near and far.
I have had a lot of good experiences and met a lot of people. I’ve visited more places, cities, states and countries than probably should be allowed at my age. In the past year, I’ve gone to Disneyworld’s Magic Kingdom, Las Vegas… and in 21 days, we’re going on a cruise. I don’t think there is much more I could ask for!
Here’s to 30 in 30! :)
